  • Is climbing dangerous?
Climbing inherently involves significant risks, and participants must acknowledge and accept this reality. It is crucial to take full responsibility for your own safety and that of your belaying partner. While climbing can be thrilling and rewarding, it is impossible to eliminate all potential hazards associated with the sport. Understanding and embracing the dangers involved is essential for a safe climbing experience. If you are not prepared to accept these risks, we encourage you to reconsider your decision to climb. Safety is paramount, and informed climbers make the best choices.
  • I am 17 and my parents are out of town. Can someone else sign my waiver?
At Aiguille, we prioritize the safety of our young climbers, which is why only natural guardians can complete the waiver for minors. Fortunately, our Climbing Waiver is accessible in various convenient formats, even if you're out of town. Digital waivers can be completed and submitted online, making it easy for guardians to manage from anywhere, including smartphones. Additionally, you can submit natural guardian IDs via email to ensure a smooth process. For more information on completing the waiver, visit our waiver page.
  • What are the age and weight requirements to climb?
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience at Aiguille, all climbers must meet specific age and weight requirements. Participants must be at least 5 years old and weigh a minimum of 25 pounds.
  • Can I use my own equipment?
We prioritize safety when it comes to climbing equipment. Participants are only permitted to use commercially manufactured and certified climbing gear that is specifically designed for climbing activities. This means that all equipment must be utilized as specified by the manufacturer. Please note that homemade harnesses, including "Swiss seats," are strictly prohibited. We believe that adhering to these guidelines helps ensure a secure environment for everyone involved.
  • I'm taking my 12-year-old child to Aiguille. Can I climb?
To engage in top roping at Aiguille, two participants are required: a climber and a belayer. To ensure safety, individuals must be at least 14 years old to take the introductory belay class. If you’re bringing children under 14 to climb, you’ll need another participant who meets the age requirement to belay for you. For those who prefer independent climbing experiences, we offer bouldering and auto-belays, which do not necessitate a climbing partner.
  • What type of clothing should I wear to rock climb?
When preparing for a climbing session at Aiguille, it's important to wear appropriate athletic apparel that allows for movement and flexibility. Even though we are an indoor facility, keep in mind that outdoor weather can change. If it’s chilly outside, bring a jacket to stay warm before and after your climb. Closed-toed shoes are mandatory unless you're renting climbing shoes from us. Additionally, if you have long hair, be sure to tie it back to ensure a safe and comfortable climbing experience.
  • My charitable organization is having a raffle/auction/event. Does Aiguille give donations?
At Aiguille, we are committed to supporting our community and fostering local engagement. We proudly offer donations of day passes for tax-exempt charitable events. If your organization is interested in benefiting from this opportunity, please reach out to us at operations@aiguille.com for more details. We believe in the power of climbing to bring people together and are excited to contribute to meaningful causes. Your efforts in making a positive impact are important to us, and we look forward to hearing from you.
